My name Ricardo Arbois Jr and I am a self taught musician and have been playing the drums since 1992. Before I started drumming in December 1991, I was watching my friends who were professional musicians performing in a live concert. For forty five minutes I observed how a friend of mine played the drums.
I observed how his hands and feet had a different function in playing drums. I saw that my friend got off the drums to play another instrument. That’s when I quickly got on the drums and joined the band playing one simple rhythm without reading music that night.
That’s how it all got started. I learned to play drums in less than one hour by just observing the drummer playing a basic drum beat. I played the same drum beat along with the band not knowing how to read sheet music and no instructor to teach me.
In the beginning of my drumming career I started taking drum lessons to learn more about drumming three times a week for 1 month and quickly discovered that paying $30 for an hour session was getting to expensive.
I was not satisfied with the amount of information and hands on experience I was getting while learning how to play the drums for what I was paying. I bought my first drum set and immediately started developing my own style and technique.
Throughout the years I have progressed into one of the foremost drummers around have played with various bands such as Illusion, The Tabernacle of Kendall, Rivers of Living Water and currently International Praise Church of God. Drum sets I have played are Pearl, Ludwig, Tama, Yamaha and DW. I have taught many friends, families and customers all around the U.S.
The key to playing the drums quickly is learning the basics in the beginning rather than learning the advanced in the beginning. That is the number one frustration many beginner drummers have. They get all excited about trying to play solos, double base drum beats etc….
Beginner drummers fail to realize that it can take weeks, months or years to develop advanced drumming techniques, depending how many times they practice on their drumming weekly. You do not have to learn how to read drum music in order to play drums.
That’s why I created Drumming Secrets Exposed Drum System. It takes a beginner drummer by the hand not knowing how to play the drums and in no time he or she will be playing the drums. Not days, weeks, years but will be playing in hours.
